It never fails…I come up with this great project, get excited, then I abandon it. This blog was no different. At the beginning of 2018 I was pumped to talk about sex and track my journey, but then the journey got real murky.

Sticking to the plan that I mentioned in a previous post, I was working full-time and picked up the weekend gig as a sex therapist. Also decided I wanted to own my own business, so I nose-dived into that as well.

Let’s not forget…I’m still a mom of 2 boys and trying to have some sort of social life. I’m sure you can already tell this was a recipe for extreme burnout. And boy did I burnout. I stopped doing all the things that I enjoy, I quit putting time into this blog, I put the business plans on the back burner, and I just said to hell with all of this.

As my stress level got higher, my motivation got lower. It became very clear that things had to change, professionally and personally…insert ———-> major self evaluation. There is nothing cute about walking around mad and irritable ALL THE DAMN TIME. Not only was it not cute, I just didn’t want to be that person anymore.

I decided to start working on quarterly goals. Every quarter I would sit down and develop a set of goals for the multiple areas of my life……professional, financial, social, physical, personal development, environment, family, and spirituality. Once I started doing this the spark slowly started to ignite for the things I am passionate about. It also kept me focused on a specific set of goals and for at least 3 months I put my all into those goals. The best part, at the beginning of a new quarter I could either continue or change my goals.

I think another thing that really helped was interacting with individuals that have a passion for their craft. Over this last year I have had so many great discussions about how things could be….if I just keep showing up. I see the wonderful things that my friends are developing, owning, or creating and I am so motivated by it. Despite my choice of conversation being very different, my support system constantly encourages me to jump in with both feet.

One thing I know for sure, is that I enjoyed the process of developing this blog and was excited to see where it could take me. My passion is wrapped in the world of sex. I enjoy talking about it, I enjoy reading about it, I enjoy listening to podcasts about it, and I just want to make that the forefront of my career. Which brings me to this post today. I’m setting the intention to show up to my passion again. I  am back to bring you the topics that are new to me and possibly new to you. Good days and bad, I will leave this rollercoaster of a ride right here on the paper because I trust the process for my growth.
